Product Description:

Delivering an enthralling and captivating first look at science, this creation-based program offers engaging textual information, hands-on investigations, biblically-inspired stories, opportunities to engage your child in meaningful discussions, Bible memory work (with hand actions), and even an easy-to-do Science Notebook. The entire program is packed into a very user-friendly, one volume course. Learn about the topic, Experience the topic, and Share what you’ve learned with others make up the three lessons (about 20-minutes each) for each of thirty-six weeks concluding with a Certified Science Explorer certificate. Learn lesson days incorporate textual information, stories (a section called Imagine That!), and a short exercise sheet that concludes with Discussion Starters. These are prompts to help you recall the lessons as well as bridge to biblical applications. Stories are based on biblical events and people (Adam and Eve in Level 1) but include fictional elements. Experience days are designed for fun with activities that illustrate concepts introduced in the Learn section. For instance, the chapter on static electricity uses balloon generated static electricity to power a race with aluminum cans. Share days include a pull-out activity page(s) for a science notebook the student builds over the year. These include a section called Let’s Memorize, which provides a Bible verse along with actions to help with memorization. Required supplies include common household items and easily sourced items including flashlight, glass prism, paint brush, Mason Jar, balloon, Play-Doh®, food coloring, magnifying glass, glow stick bracelet or glow in the dark paint, and craft supplies. There are also some recommended resources for families wanting to go deeper: When You See A Rainbow (#078385), Aquarium Guide (out-of-print) and Created Cosmos DVD (item 057182). Colorfully illustrated, student pages are reproducible for your family. Uses NIV and NIrV Bible versions.

User-friendly, the Course Books provide everything necessary for teaching, including reproducible (for your family) student pages: appealing textual information, stories, materials list, daily/weekly lessons, notebook pages, memory verse sheets, and helpful tips. Hands-on activities use household or easy to find items (see individual level for more information). Both a master materials list for the entire year and weekly lists are provided. Not just colorful, but beautifully, subtly colorful; perforated student pages include textual information, stories, coloring/drawing sheets, occasional mazes, and dot-to-dots as well as handwriting practice in the lower levels. Introductory information includes course objectives and an overview, along with helpful tips and a weekly schedule. Science with a little boy...ha! My son absolutely loves learning and thoroughly enjoyed his books of experiments to introduce him to the world of science last year. This looked like the perfect continuation to that study in allowing him to dive into the world of creation and keep doing experiments that he loves.

We are excited to dive into this curriculum with 3 of my kids that are the same age. Its engaging, fun, and a solid science program that is easy for me as a mom to do with a busy schedule and large family but not wanting anything to lack for in this area.

It feels a little young to be using for a 3rd grader? The suggested age range includes 3rd grade. But the only sample page is coloring a picture of the world.
Laura on Oct 12, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Each child in “3rd grade” may be at different levels but it was below my daughter’s level last year. We used this for my 1st grader, which seemed age appropriate. My 3rd grader participated in the hands on activities during our POD lessons and that was fine but she would complain sometimes that it was boring. She was working on level 2, only because level 3 covered a lot of material she had already learned in 2nd grade.

A good early elementary science option using the 6 days of creation for the order in which topics are taught.
This is a very neat science book for 1st-3rd grade covering a great range of topics. It has fictional Bible stories with Adam and Eve teaching their boys about different things of creation . Then they learn about different topics in the order of creation days 1-6. It includes hands on experiments to help enforce / grasp what they have learned and then have pages to include in their own notebook journal of what they have learned each week. Overall a good early elementary science option.

Engaging and knowledgeable
Write yoVery nice book. To be honest I was a little skeptical about this book at first because I couldn't imagine how can you create a through unit science study about creation days only, but boy was I wrong. I like how this book balances some pretty advanced ideas and puts them into children's language, so they can understand, and I absolutely loved that they use the Bible as a core basis for learning science. I am very grateful that my children can learn that from the beginning. Even though this book is meant for 1st grade, I use it with my K and it is easily adaptable. I think there is potential to use it with 2nd grader easy as well. It is not overwhelming at all, and I like simple experiments that we can do to learn more. The pictures are beautiful as well. And the topics go deeper into science with each day of creation, so they talk deeper about water, creatures, human and its body and such. Wonderful and entertaining. ur review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Great 1st Grade Science Curriculum
I have been very impressed by this curriculum for my 1st grader. He loses interest very quickly, but this book has done a great job capturing his attention. He is learning way more than I expected, and I love that it is laid out as the days of creation. Just the other day, I asked him to tell me about light - and it was most than just a plain answer. He responded with light travels quickly and is made of different colors. He is definitely soaking up a lot of the information! Plus it comes from one of my favorite publishers, and they are wonderful about providing curriculum with Scripture and Biblical trust interwoven throughout their books.
