Fencing Lessons Answer Key
Fencing Lessons Answer Key provides the answers to the exciting new bible curriculum designed to help your student grow to love and depend on his/her Bible for all life's answers and dilemmas, big and small. We are so excited to bring this new bible curriculum to you! Though not entirely essential, the answer key is definitely worth the investment and will save your student time and frustration. Though the student workbook is consumable, you only need one answer key for the entire family (the answer key is not consumable).
Fencing Lessons is designed for your students, grades 5-10, to develop a deep love for the Word of God and for God Himself. The title comes from the idea that God's Word is our spiritual sword (Ephesians 6:17), so it is important for us to learn how to use it effectively. The study of the use of a sword is called fencing. Each lesson is broken down into four sections:
1. Sword Drill is a simple exercise to help your student not only memorize the books of the bible (for quick and easy access), but also to help him/her learn a little about each book.
2. Sword Play exercises are puzzles, riddles, word searches, and quizzes that use God's Word. As your students play the games and solves the puzzles, they are becoming more familiar with God's Word, helping them to hide His Word in their hearts.
3. Fencing Practice is a short Bible study based on a particular passage (the same passage used in the Sword Play exercise).
4. Thrust and Parry is the most important part of the lesson. It teaches the student to apply God's Word to his/her own life, so he's not like the man in James 1:23 who looks in the mirror, then forgets what he's seen.
The first 13 Fencing Lessons are about the importance and power of God's Word. Lessons 14-38 are about God Himself, His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence. Lessons 39-47 are about God's love. He IS love. Lessons 48-59 study many of God's other attributes, including His holiness, justice, righteousness, truth, purity, and wisdom. Lessons 60-70 study the "Roman Road" a look at basic gospel truths that lead to salvation. A solid grasp of these truths will help your student to share the gospel with other people. Lessons 71-90 are a study of Christian living. As believers, our lives should look different than the world's. These lessons will help your student to grasp and own this fact by applying God's Word to everyday situations, while avoiding 'easy grace.'
This resource helps to provide teenagers with the truths of the Christian faith and the ability to apply God's Word. Using the Ephesians 6 imagery of the Sword of the Spirit, each lesson is manageable, but solid study includes four portions: Sword Drill (learning about and memorizing Bible books); Sword Play (games and puzzles to hide God's Word in students' hearts); Fencing Practice (short study on passage used in Sword Play); and Thrust and Parry (the key part of the lesson, applying God's Word-including Scripture memory and prayer). Lessons are brief, distilled to highlight core tenets of the Christian faith, so you can add personal denominational beliefs when and where you desire. Topics start with a close look at God's character and attributes. The second half studies the "Roman Road" (the path to salvation) and Christian living. Quotations use KJV and ESV, but usable with any preferred Bible version. The text is 275 pgs, pb; Answer Key is 35 pgs, pb. ~ Ruth
