Kit includes 10 smooth foam balls for Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and the Sun. Each planet is made of smooth foam and painted in a bright basic color, either to use as is or add additional paint details. Contents include 9 wooden rods (12"), 9 smooth foam balls (Sizes range from 1" to 4 ½"), 2 half balls, a smooth foam ring, a base ring, printed rings for Saturn, and instructions. Provides 22 total pieces. Household supplies required, but not included, are scissors, wire cutters, a ruler, water-based tacky glue or a low temp glue gun, and acrylic or other water-based paints. Smoothfoam Solar System Kit: Painted. Construct your own solar system diagram; complete with painted Smoothfoam planets. This package contains nine planets and one sun ranging in size from 1x1x1in (Pluto) to 4-1/2x4-1/2x4-1/2in; nine 12in wooden connecting rods; Saturn's rings (both printed rings on back of box and Smoothfoam ring included); one 3in Smoothfoam ring for base; and one eyelet screw for hanging. Directions for assembly and fun facts are printed on the box. Note: some common household tools/products may be needed for complete assembly. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
