Description

Captivating story about a large grey dog named Queen who was added to Link Steven's sled pack. He was Link's strongest dog, but she was wild, ferocious, and did not trust any human being. Because she was pregnant, she feared for the life and safety of her pups. She ran away in the middle of the night to find a reasonable place to raise her young. Not too long after her three pups were born, their new dwelling place was invaded by the “Black Devil Wolf." It was a legendary animal to be feared by those who pass through because it was more powerful and deadly than any other predator around. Queen fought hard, but did not last long against the fury of the grey wolf. After she died, the bravest of the pups, “the masked faced puppy," went out on his own and grew up to be a huge wolf-like dog.

One day, the masked faced dog got caught in one of Link's coyote traps. Upon discovery, Link recognized him as one of Queen's pups, and attempted to break him as a sled dog and named him Cherri. Just when Link thought he was starting to make headway, Cherri ran away in the middle of a bull hunt. Link gave up in his seemingly hopeless battle, and tried to go on without him. Link and his pack were out in the forest, however, when they were suddenly bombarded by the Devil Wolf. Read this suspenseful and exciting story to find out what happened to Link, his pack, Cheri, and the wolf. 163 pgs, pb.

Note: This book contains quite a bit of descriptive animal fight violence.
