Equivalence Fraction Tiles Set
Learning fractions, decimals and percentages and seeing the connections between them can be challenging. They were for me! Manipulatives such as these can be just the aid needed to help students grasp the concepts. This set includes three tile sets: fractions, decimals, and percentages. The tiles correlate in shape and color. So, to build a tile that represents the large "1" blue tile (6" long), your student can use twelve 1/12 pink tiles, six 0.166 orange tiles, or eight 12.5% tiles. You can also show correlation with colors: the yellow tiles are 2.5%, ¼, and 0.25. So helpful to bridge between the three equivalents! I would personally add magnets to the tile backs for further usability. Colors, from largest to smallest, are blue, brown, black, yellow, green, orange, red, purple and pink. Nine different fractions (and their equivalents) included: 1, ½, 1/3, ¼, 1/5, 1/6 1/8, 1/10, and 1/12. Tiles are 1" tall and range from 6" long for the "1" (or whole) tile to 1/2" long for the 1/12 tile. Comes in a transparent, plastic storage case with attached lid (bottom is 6 ¼" x 4 ¼"; top of case is 6 ½ x 4 ½). ~ Ruth
