Category Description for Interlocking Base 10 Blocks/Cubes:

This linking set is similar to blue set above

This linking set is similar to blue set above, but blocks are constructed to link together top to bottom (like LEGOs). This allows students to actually build models of numbers, giving them a real "feel" for base ten concepts. Not just for place value, interlocking blocks also can be used to model addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percents. The Starter Set is blue and contains 100 unit cubes, 30 rods, 10 flats, 1 decimeter cube and a teacher's manual. The manual includes teaching ideas for several different math concepts. Individual pieces can be ordered seperately.

CHOKING HAZARD (1). Not <3yrs.

These clever little cubes can be pressed together to make sticks of 10 or so. They also double as gram cubes for weight & length which is why we chose these over bigger cubes. We used them for counting, teaching number places, counting to 100 by 10's, balance scale weights, lengths & building fun. They are very small. Some snapped together well, and some would not stay together. If you have toddlers around choose a cube set with larger cubes. Helpful if you use Singapore Earlybird Math B.

Do they interlock on more than one side? Can they lock on two places
A shopper on Aug 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they interlock on more than one side. They have 1 male side, 3 female sides, and 2 sides that are smooth (no interlocking on the smooth sides). In comparison, the larger interlocking cubes interlock on all sides (1 male side and 5 female sides). The larger cubes also have a "tighter" interlock than these 1 cm cubes.

100 1cm cube 10 sticks
These cubes are as advertised. However, they do not all snap together uniformly. Some may be too difficult for kindergarteners and first graders to snap together and others barely hold together. The size although easier to store may be on the small side for the younger children. I think my1st grader will love them but there could be issues during use due to the un-uniform snapping.

A great value
These have been a favorite in our homeschool for many years. They’re great for their intended purpose of weighing, measuring, sorting and counting. They connect and come in 10 different colors. They’re smaller than the other snap block types, which means they take up less room, but could be a hazard if you have babies or toddlers.
