Category Description for Abeka Bible (12):

The focus and theme of the twelfth grade Abeka Bible is on the beginning and the end. First semester focuses on Genesis: First Things (176 pgs., pb) covering the creation story, first people, first nations, Abraham, and the patriarchs of Israel. This is a great bible course to pick up as a first-time introduction to Bible as the first chapter covers what the Bible is, the impact of the Bible, and then introduces Genesis and the beginnings of God’s Word. Second semester focuses on Book of the Revelation: Church History Lives of Great Missionaries and The Cults (250 pgs., pb) with discussions on the end times, the relevancy of the Churches in Revelation, the rapture, and the tribulation. Designed as a 4-day/week course, and featuring a spiral learning approach, lessons follow a structure of: prayer; verse memorization, teach, and review (scripture is in the KJV).

Each course comes with Teacher Editions of the text in full, with helpful teaching guidance’s, scope and sequences, study questions and answers, tips for quizzes, and daily plans (these daily plans are outlines, not scripted lessons). The full-color, non-consumable Student Text also has a corresponding Student Quizzes/Test booklet, and Teacher Quiz/Test Key booklet available. For music correlating with this course, you can utilize the Sing His Praises Hymns and Choruses hymnal and also visit the Abeka website to purchase audio CD’s for each course. ~Rebecca

I ordered this language arts program because I don't have confidence teaching in this area I also felt my daughter may be falling behind in her writing skills I was looking for something kid friendly with a lot of help/guidance for mom It is very much for classrooms and public school teachers While I do like the student text book and think it offers a lot of guided practice I'm not at all impressed with the teachers book The third book in the set is solely an assessment and test book I was disappointed there were no workbooks included I just looked online and found the student workbook and other workbooks (vocabulary power) utilized throughout the teachers manual I'm not sure why for $280 they don't include a workbook? My advice is to buy just the student text book and workbook if you want your kids to keep inline with what public school kids are using And now that I've tried these materials I don't think I will be using them again For $280 I could buy mountains of wonderful curriculum geared more towards the homeschoolers
