Pack your bags and get ready to go on a Worldwide Typing Adventure! Travel through time, go on Safari, or take a trip around the world as you learn to type or improve your typing skills. Typists begin their adventure in the Travel Port where they select a unique travel adventure. First stop: the prehistoric era, or Antarctica, or Australia! Each typing adventure is packed with so much fun and motivation, typists forget they are learning to type. They’ll progress through the Adventure by taking lessons, tests, typing challenges and playing fun typing games using just the keys they have learned and practiced in lessons and tests. When they complete the typing activities at a destination, they’ll receive a stamp in their passport. When the passport is full, they have completed the adventure and are on their way to becoming Touch Typists.

Improve your typing skills with this entertaining, interactive program. It is similar to Typing Instructor Deluxe 17.3, but with additional enhancements to make learning more fun. This program centers around a travel theme, with the player beginning at a travel port surrounded by twelve world flags. As you progress through lessons, games, and typing tests, you receive a stamp on a passport for each destination you complete. Photos of world destinations appear throughout the lessons. Helpful reference features include a How to Type button (covering finger positions and posture) and a presentation on the history of typing. The Practice Center contains fun activities, such as the Magazine Rack (typing exercises from over 300 books, articles and short stories), dictation exercises, and the Arcade (with twelve video games). Students receive feedback on words per minute and accuracy after each lesson (with detailed analysis available), and they can even print achievement certificates. Lessons can be completed in English or Spanish. Please note: an internet connection is required for registration/activation but not for daily use of the program. Available for Mac or PC systems, or in a set that includes both. Software comes in a plain paper sleeve with basic installation instructions. Set of both versions includes both PC and Mac CDs.

Reviewed a couple of different typing programs but my daughter liked this one the best after watching the demo video. I think it will be beneficial and fun for teaching typing.

Rated number one in the top 10. We have used previous versions and they are well done and entertaining for my kids. This appears to be an older kids version, which will be nice. The previous version we had died with our computer b/c it was too old. This one uses Windows 10-which is our new computer

BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is an excellent program for beginners. You can set the level of the student to beginner, as well as the words per minute goal for the student. They will work through learning where all the keys are and slowly typing words. There are also some fun games to play to reinforce what they have learned and the skill level of the games correlates with where they are currently in the program. My daughter has really enjoyed this program and learned how to type by using it.
Do I need internet access after set-up? I wanted to put it on a computer with no internet access.

BEST ANSWER: I do not remember if internet access was required at setup, but you do not need it after setup. I just disconnected my computer from the internet and had my daughter open the program and see if she could use it and it worked just fine. So, it looks like you will be able to use it without internet access once it is installed. My daughter really likes this program for learning how to type and is doing very will with it.
Can I use the same disc on three laptops, or do I need to buy one disc for each laptop?

BEST ANSWER: I believe this can be downloaded on as many computers as you own. You may want to double check with typinginstructor.biz to confirm this. We have put this on 2 computers, but each computer keeps track of the progress seperately, so if a child switches from one to another, he will not be able to pick up where he left off when he switches.

Can you set up with program with several different children at different levels? Can they keep track of their progression separately?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can have up to five users and keep track of their progression separately. The program comes with a key code so it can only be installed on one computer.

Typing Tutor
While I am a good typist, this is not something that is easily taught to another. I used a typing program for each of my children, and they have been successful with their typing needs. It was time for my youngest to learn to type, and the program that we used in the past was no longer available to us, so I thought I'd try this CD. I have been pleased with the program, and in just a few short weeks, by middle-schooler has greatly improved his technique, speed, and accuracy.

Exactly what we needed
My kids have hated other typing programs we've tried. I decided to buy Typing Instructor even though I hadn't seen a demo and wasn't totally sure it would work for us. I am so glad I went for it. My kids (ages 12 and 10) have been using it for ten weeks and they haven't complained once. In fact, they really like the safari theme. Both of them have progressed from hunt-and-peck typists to typing 25 words per minute with nearly 100% accuracy. And that's just the first ten weeks! This is a great purchase for homeschoolers.

This is a wonderful Typing program I purchased when my 11 yo son was bored with the program he�d been using for 6 years It has wonderful games at every level and is even appropriate for adults One version includes programs for both pc�s and Macs The instruction is very sequential It�s used by several online schools as their typing program
