Category Description for Hugg-a-Planet Geography Toys:

"Have you hugged our Earth or America today?" The soft pillow models of our planet and America are perfect for learning countries, capitals, oceans, rivers, lakes, and islands in a very hands-on way that is more fun than a textbook. The cotton shell of this 12" planet earth is labeled with more than 600 different locations and is accompanied with an information tag that includes statistics about the age of the earth (millions of years), its make-up, and even things you can do to protect the earth.

Over 400 locations are labeled on the polyester shell of America, which includes Hawaii and Alaska on the back of the pillow. An information sheet accompanies the U.S. shaped pillow which includes state abbreviations, state size, "Pledge of Allegiance," and much more. Take this in your car to play the 'license plate' game, find locations as you study about them or pass through them, or create your own games using these soft, huggable replicas. This is a geography study around which you can literally 'wrap your arms.'

Rainbow Resource Center Store
My ten year old asked for it.

As a former educator who worked in the Toy Industry, I have found Hugg a Planets to be fun educational products and excellent gifts Rainbow should also consider carrying the Spanish and Mars Hugg a Planet versions. I would have bought all 3. Thank you. John

My son had one when he was young and he loved it. It got thrown away and he has missed it ever since so I am replacing it. He will be shocked when he opens it on Christmas. :)

I love giving this gift!
This is my favorite gift for baby through preschool agers. Most parents -- at this point -- are as surprised and delighted as the recipient. Fun to play with, great to learn about world geography,
the significance of our planet and foster love for our common humanity.

Good globe alternative!
I was looking for a globe that my kids couldn’t break!!! It worked!! We still own it several years later and we usually break everything. My dog even played with it a few times. We didn’t find it particularly cuddly though.

Always my new baby gift
The hugg-a-planet classic is my go-to gift for new babies of friends and relatives. The colors are beautiful, the softness is so huggable, and the sentiment "welcome to our world" is always on my enclosed card. This gift is unique and very well made, and lasts forever for the babies in my life.

Bright and nicely squishy globe
Overall, we're very happy with our new fabric globe. The colors are bright and cheery, and the globe is--as promised--huggable. Our daughter loves playing toss with it, and we've had a few educational moments with it. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is that the fabric feels synthetic and not super soft. This probably is what will allow the globe to last over time, though.

This globe is so great! I can allow everyone in the house to handle it without worrying about it breaking My mom still has our Hugg-a-Planet from 30 years ago so I know it will last us It is somewhat lacking in detail but what's there is accurate so I am happy using it on a daily basis in our homeschool Do be aware that the globe is not very full of stuffing so it looks half-deflated sitting on the shelf This makes it a nice toss pillow on the sitting room couch though so I don't mind Recommended!

I struggled a lot with geography when I was in school Nothing in my home or elementary school gave me the 'big' picture of what maps meant or where in the world things were For my kids I'm trying to help them understand how the pieces fit together at a young age I'm not using a specific geography curriculum for first and second grade but instead got Hugg-a-Planet and Hugg America Whenever we read or hear about a place we find it together on the appropriate pillow When there is a map in the history curriculum we find the area that the map represents I've been pleasantly surprised by how much detail these contain I absolutely love the pillow idea! I'd already tried maps on the wall (which my husband didn't really like and always got ripped off by curious pointing fingers) and an inflatable globe (which we couldn't find when we wanted it and ended up with a leak from rough-housing with it) The pillows are perfect! They sit on the couch that I usually read on so they are always handy We don't have to get out out of our comfy reading positions in order to make use of them at teachable moments The kids can also take a nap on one or kick the world around the living room with no ill-effect! I do think that my kids are painlessly getting the big picture of maps and the world at a much younger age than I did! The ease of using these pillows as teaching tools makes it painless for me too!
