Kickoff to Chemistry Science Lab Kit
Designed for the curious, this kit introduces learners to the exciting world of chemistry. Kit contains 23 teacher-created activities that explore the science behind acids, bases, reactions, polymers and more. Students learn to measure pH levels, make a homemade fire extinguisher, turn milk into glue, make a Lava Lamp, and more. Step-by-step instructions, science in action, and chemistry related careers are explored in the included Career & Lab Guide. Kit contains balloons, candle, citric acid, clothespins, craft sticks, funnel, litmus powder, lollipop sticks, measuring cups, measuring spoon, paper straw, pH test strips, pipettes, protective gloves/goggles, sodium bicarbonate, test tubes and test tube lids. You will need to provide black pepper, coffee grounds, cooking oil, corn syrup, dish soap, raw egg, flour, food coloring, lemon juice, milk, noodles, orange juice, raisins, red cabbage, salt, sand, soda, sugar, vinegar, and water. The following tools are also required: blender, glass bowls, colored markers, cookie cutter, drill (optional), 8-12 oz. glasses, match (or lighter), microwave, needle/toothpick, paper, paper towels, plastic water bottle, plates, saucepan, scissors, strainer, masking tape, timer, wooden skewer, and wooden spoon. Parental supervision required.
Explore the science behind chemistry. Children learn the importance of solubility, acids vs. bases, testing pH levels, observing chemical reactions, inflating balloons with gases, turning milk into glue, and much more! This kit also introduces children to different chemistry-related STEM careers such as a pharmacist, chemical engineer, flavorist, odor tester, food chemist, etc.
