Description

Self-described as “a lethal combination of potatoes, programming, and piracy," this game can seem a little silly at first glance. Once you learn the basic rules (programming concepts disguised as attacks on enemy pirate potatoes), you're sure to get caught up in the fun! Players must lead a crew of ‘taters to rescue seven Potato King cards from the deck, all while using action cards to Roast, Mash, and Fry their opponents. Gameplay gets interesting when you add control cards, which use loops and conditionals to make your attacks even more devastating. For example, use a Fry card to fry 3 enemy potatoes, or pair with a For 2 Times card that allows you to fry twice. Add a For 3 Times card to create a nested loop that allows you to attack 6 times! Be careful! With additional Surprise cards, opponents can interrupt your attacks and gain more ships and crew members. The game ends when a player has successfully rescued all Potato Kings or has eliminated the other salty sea spuds. For 3-6 players, includes 84 potato crew placeholder pom-poms in a storage bag, 16 ship cards, 32 action cards, 24 control cards, 22 surprise cards, 7 Potato King cards, and an instruction booklet. – Laura
