Product Description:

This sturdy little LED-lighted pocket microscope is the perfect companion for the great outdoors or indoors! The 4" microscope fits into a sturdy base, but can be used without. Use the zoom to view small objects at 20X-40X which show up nice and bright with the LED lighting. Even 3-D objects look nice and sharp under the viewer! One of my favorite features is the button that controls the lighting you have to hold it in to turn on the light, ensuring that the light bulb isn't left on for hours and hours. Two plastic specimen slides and cover slips are included to begin your pond water investigations, and these slide right into the microscope base. Microscope uses three LR44 button cell batteries, included. ~ Jess

Does this microscope require special slides, or are regular microscope slides okay?

This little microscope exceeded our expectations! It was very simple to use and even our four year old could easily look through while holding down the light button We found ourselves hastening to find various little objects to observe It would probably not take the place of a "real" microscope but is lots of fun and great for a beginner or to take into the field We were very impressed with this very affordable microscope's simplicity and clarity
