Your student will develop both strong number sense and a positive attitude towards math with fun activities like Addition Bingo, Pretend Store, and Measurement Scavenger Hunt. All you’ll need are this Instructor Guide, the Student Workbook, and simple household or classroom items (like play money, pattern blocks, objects to count, and a ruler) to make math come alive for your student.

All student practice pages (and answers) are found in the colorful, easy-to-use Student Workbook.

Features:

 • Short, scripted, hands-on, and developmentally-appropriate lessons
 • Clear goals at the start of each lesson to tell you exactly what you’re trying to accomplish
 • Explanatory notes teach you more deeply how children learn math, equipping you for developmentally-appropriate teaching
 • Checkpoints at the end of each unit give specific guidance on whether to do more review or move on

Category Description for Math with Confidence:

Are you looking for a “Goldilocks” math curriculum? You know, the one that is not too hard, not too easy, but just right. Math with Confidence may pass the Goldilocks test for your child! Not only does it provide the right level of challenge for most children, but it also passes the Goldilocks test for parents with well defined goals, sequenced lessons, open and go scripted lessons, and easy to implement activities. The curriculum focuses on mastery with topical units and spiral review. Currently, two levels are completed, with the rest of the K-4 series to be released by 2024.

Instructor Guides begin with introductory information and a helpful how to use section which gives parents the tools to confidently teach math. There are four teaching days and one optional enrichment or review day, for a total of 32 weeks. Weekly lessons have the same format: Overview of the week, lesson notes, and materials list for activities. Most lessons use household items, although a few math manipulatives are recommended. Lessons are scripted, with what you exactly need to say in bold. Lessons include an interactive teaching time and more independent workbook time. Lessons will take about 15-20 minutes (Kindergarten) and 20-25 minutes (grade 1). Enrichment or review activities focus on games/activities or a suggested read aloud math book of the week. Answer Key and Black line masters included. Reproducible for your immediate family. Softcover.

Colorful, consumable student workbooks provide the independent daily work. For grade 1, pages are perforated. Reproducible for immediate family members, although the publisher has made great effort to keep these workbooks affordable for families.

I have heard good things about this program
Emilia S on Aug 27, 2021
My almost six year old just finished the Kindergarten level, and we couldn't be more satisfied. I love the combination of a week of lessons on one topic, with a warm-up that spiral reviews. The unit checkpoints in the instructors manual are reassuring, and the workbook illustrations couldn't be more fun but sweet.

If we weren't for Kate's program rolling out, we would be doing Right Start or Math Mammoth.

We loved kindergarten Math with Confidence so much we are continuing with First Grade this year. So easy for me, and my kid loves it!

Love the material but binding isn't holding up
I love the material/content, it has been very easy to use/understand. My one disappointment is that the binding split the first time I opened the book and now the pages are beginning to tear out. :(

Highly recommend!
We’ve done 4 other math curriculum but I think MWC is tops! The sequence makes sense and is smooth. Spirals but not too spirally. Not too workbook based but with some. Games are straightforward. We are in love!
