My grand daughter would like to learn some music, but she loses things easily. The case for this makes it nice and portable as well as handy to use and learn on.

A friend of mine who owns one exactly like this item recommended it to me; I will give it as a gift to my nephew who loves to play music.

This Glockenspiel gets five star reviews on Amazon, but the price is better here. My second son is going to start with this instrument as I expect it to be simpler than piano (which he doesn't seem ready for) but still a complete introduction to the way music works.

Do any songs come with it and if not what should I purchase so my child can play some songs?
A shopper on Dec 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No songs came with our glockenspiel, but all the bars are labeled with the note names (ex. A, B, F#, and so on). I'd look for beginner tunes with note names, but the child needs to be a bit older, 8 and up, I'd guess, to follow music in that format. See if this is of any help www(dot)choose-piano-lessons(dot)com/kids-songs(dot)html. Ignore the word "piano," the notes are the same on both instruments, but you may need to help if he/she struggles to decide between a high and a low C, for example.
What color is it? The picture shows a gorgeous blue color, but when i add it to my cart, it appears as a yellow with red that i'm not a fan of.
A shopper on Mar 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The cart graphic must be outdated. We are currently stocking the blue ones like on the web listing.

My wife recently purchased this for our 7yo dd Her older brother has a lap harp so we wanted a 'real' instrument for her as well This glockenspiel was so inexpensive that I was worried about the quality but I have been PLEASANTLY surprised The tone of these bells is clear and sweet Even when the toddler bangs on this it is not an annoying or ear-splitting experience! You can remove individual bars also and rearrange the bars if you wish So you could make a pentatonic-only instrument or arrange bars in a tune for the child to play in a row (if that makes sense to you!) Be aware that the included mallets won't last forever You may want to purchase a couple inexpensive hardwood mallets for when they bite the dust All around an unbeatable value for a professional-grade instrument Highly recommended!
