Category Description for Easy Grammar Series:

Mastery of basic grammar facts. Independent student work. Lots of review and practice. That’s what Easy Grammar provides. It’s convenient and takes no teacher prep time. The general idea is to introduce grammar gently to young students (Easy Grammar Daily Guided Teaching, grades 1-2). The middle school years (grades 3-7) focus on systematic instruction and provide lots of practice to master the basics as well as daily review. The secondary years (Easy Grammar Ultimate, grades 8-12) continue daily review, coupled with some advanced instruction. The courses vary in structure at different grade levels. Grades 3-6 are similar in structure but grade-level appropriate. Easy Grammar Plus is a course that can be used either in 7th grade or as a complete grammar review for older students. Daily Grams, available for grades 3-7, supplements and complements the EG series by providing daily review.

Each grade level Teacher Edition provides bite-size lessons, student practice and assessment pages, and those same pages with answers filled in. Both the practice pages and the tests are reproducible for families. Student Workbooks include lesson and practice pages. Test Books (available for Grades 3 and up) provide pre and post tests as well as sectional tests. Grade level Sets include the Teacher Edition, Student Book and Test Book (if available for that level).

I chose this program this year because it does not require a lot of time from me (the teacher/parent) or the student. We need extra time for other subjects this year and using Easy Grammar solved some scheduling challenges. BEST ANSWER: The workbook does not provide the answers. Those are provided in the teacher’s version. You can use only the teacher’s version if you wish and photocopy the student pages.

BEST ANSWER: I honestly do not know if there is a placement test - sorry. What I do know is that I found Easy Grammar after subjecting my two oldest to a stricter curriculum. Having found Easy Grammar, its one of those curriculums you find and wish you could go back and redo the 2 older kids who missed out on it. We love it and my 6th grader loves it. Its a very manageable curriculum, by that I mean they don't over-do it with lots of extra things the kid doesn't need to learn. We are literally done within 15 minutes each day.

Traditional approach with constant review built in
I love the Easy Grammar series as it teaches children the parts of speech and the basics of English grammar in a clear way. The exercises are predictable so the student can get work done quickly once the new concept is explained. The best part, in my opinion, is that the student is continually practicing what he has already learned, leading to true mastery. E.g., the student learns about identifying prepositional phrases, crossing them out in the exercise that follows that lesson, but then he will continue to cross out prepositional phrases in subsequent lessons. Thus, built-in review and true mastery! Bonus, it is simple for the teacher to check each lesson and assess student understanding.

LOVE Easy Grammar!!!
I bought this for my 6th grader, who had not had a lot of formal grammar instruction yet at his school. The approach of learning to recognize prepositions first is genius. My guy is doing very well with this book.

Great way to learn English grammar!
I have been tutoring middle school for several years, and highly recommend this series. I have found it to be the best series for teaching grammar because you learn what prepositions and prepositional phrases are, at the beginning of the book. This approach makes the rest of grammar make so much sense!

Easy Grammar is such a blessing! Two of our children were struggling in another grammar program when we switched to Easy Grammar Both were able to understand object of the preposition direct and indirect objects and so much more after we put them in Easy Grammar What was so amazing is how much they retained after using this only one year Nothing else had made grammar make sense the way this program didI would recommend Easy Grammar to anyone looking for a painless way to teach grammar
