Mastery of basic grammar facts. Independent student work. Lots of review and practice. That’s what Easy Grammar provides. It’s convenient and takes no teacher prep time. The general idea is to introduce grammar gently to young students (Easy Grammar Daily Guided Teaching, grades 1-2). The middle school years (grades 3-7) focus on systematic instruction and provide lots of practice to master the basics as well as daily review. The secondary years (Easy Grammar Ultimate, grades 8-12) continue daily review, coupled with some advanced instruction. The courses vary in structure at different grade levels. Grades 3-6 are similar in structure but grade-level appropriate. Easy Grammar Plus is a course that can be used either in 7th grade or as a complete grammar review for older students. Daily Grams, available for grades 3-7, supplements and complements the EG series by providing daily review.

Each grade level Teacher Edition provides bite-size lessons, student practice and assessment pages, and those same pages with answers filled in. Both the practice pages and the tests are reproducible for families. Student Workbooks include lesson and practice pages. Test Books (available for Grades 3 and up) provide pre and post tests as well as sectional tests. Grade level Sets include the Teacher Edition, Student Book and Test Book (if available for that level).

Easy Grammar is a thorough, really exhaustive, grammar curriculum that is not exhaust-ing. My kids do 2 pages a day, and they really enjoy them. It covers everything, and builds on itself year after year. Using it multiple years helps the grammar to stick. But we have also jumped in, in grades 4 and 6, and had no trouble. No previous knowledge is necessary, everything is explained in an orderly and concise way.

"Love Singapore Math! Have used it for 4 of my 6 kids. Great for learning to do math in your head! Great for kids who are good or average at math. Wouldn't recommend it for Math strugglers, as it doesn't have enough repetition unless you supplement."

I wanted to round out grammar with my dd as this can also help with comprehension. Her writing program has grammar, but I wanted something that was a little more in depth. Hopefully this will do the trick with all the reviews and comparing I've done.

Any grade of Easy Grammar is exceptional. It is straight forward teaching and learning, at a very affordable price. The repetition really helps children memorize things like: prepositions, helping verbs, etc. It also cuts through all of the cutesy, "fun" distractions that I see in a lot of teaching materials. I don't just want my children to have a "good school experience", I want them to have a proper education. Easy Grammar really provides a good, solid Grammar foundation with ease.

Are the pages easy tear by chance? I’m thinking it might be hard to lay the workbook flat for my daughter to work in it even if I cover up the answer page.

BEST ANSWER: The binding can be bent back for tearing. The pages are not perforated. It is also possible to have the binding cut professionally at an office store.
Can the student workbook be bought in a digital form?

BEST ANSWER: This book does not cover diagramming. A different, and I believe easier, method is used so that diagramming is not needed. The core of their method starts with identifying prepositions and removing prepositional phrases. They then cover other aspects of grammar and sentence composition, such as subject, object, nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, clauses, etc. They also cover punctuation, capitalization, library skills, spelling, synonyms, antonyms, homonyms and common misspellings.
Do you need to use Easy Grammar AND Daily Grams?

BEST ANSWER: No, you do not NEED, both, but they are designed to complement each other. The Daily Grams are ongoing review of principles the student has learned. Easy Grammar teaches new material, and review some, in a topic-based format. There is a group of lessons on verbs, then nouns, then clauses, for example. If you want ongoing review of capitalization rules, subject-verb agreement, etc., you will want the Daily Grams.
When using this Grammar book, is the student book also needed? Or does the Easy Grammar Grade 5 Teacher Edition contain what is needed for student and teacher?

BEST ANSWER: I highly recommend buying the student book. The teacher book does contain everything you need, but the student pages in the Teacher's edition are facing the answer pages -you would have to cover up the answers while the student worked, or copy the pages for the student to complete. One year I tried using the Teacher Edition without the student book, and the time and money I spent copying the pages did not not seem worth any small amount of money I might have saved. Now I always buy the student book!
Would a student feel lost in Grade 5 of Easy Grammar if they haven't done any of the previous grade levels in the program?

BEST ANSWER: We have used a lot of the easy grammar books. I like them because the answers are right there on the left page ( because sometimes I am the one who needs to peak at them to make sure I know what I'm talking about). Also, my kids are pretty independent when they use them. As far as jumping in at grade 5, I'd say if they can make it past the first 20 pages , there is enough repetition to get what they are teaching.
Will a student be lost if they start in Grade 5 of Easy Grammar without having done the previous grade books?

BEST ANSWER: Hi! I started my daughter in Easy Grammar in 6th grade and it was the best thing we could have done for her. She is now in college and has done wonderful in her classes from 6th grade on in both her grammar and writing. My 9th grader just started back to public hight school and has had no issues with grammar. My son is 5th grade and loves this book. My advice is to make sure your student memorizes the prepositions in the front of the book. We put ours to songs, etc... You can find some fun ways to memorize those online. Hope this helps!

Easy to swallow bite-size grammar
This language curriculum uses a short daily lesson to teach and review basic grammar, punctuation, and parts of speech. You also practice creating sentences. I like it so far, because the lessons are simple to understand and repeat Concepts before adding more. One thing I did not like is that there are 10 introductory lessons in the back of the book, which I did not see until we were several weeks in. They should have been at the beginning of the book

For the first time in years my daughter has enjoyed grammar This will be our second year using this program - she specifically asked to use Easy Grammar again I was impressed last year with the well thought out program This year I was even more impressed as I realized how much my daughter actually retained and continues to apply!

As a homeschooling mother of 4 in my humble opinion Easy Grammar is the foremost grammar program From the outset eliminating prepositional phrases was a paramount step in the understanding of grammar as well as effective writing for my children We use Institute for Excellence in Writing and having memorized the prepositional phrases as well as learning to identify the other parts of speech for Easy Grammar helped them to easily add "dress-ups" to their papers There is ample practice and instruction is to the point I find there is minimal preparation on my part I have found it preferable to other programs for imparting a working knowledge of grammar in the children learning more than I had thought they would It is well worth the money paid
