Category Description for Easy Grammar Series:

Mastery of basic grammar facts. Independent student work. Lots of review and practice. That’s what Easy Grammar provides. It’s convenient and takes no teacher prep time. The general idea is to introduce grammar gently to young students (Easy Grammar Daily Guided Teaching, grades 1-2). The middle school years (grades 3-7) focus on systematic instruction and provide lots of practice to master the basics as well as daily review. The secondary years (Easy Grammar Ultimate, grades 8-12) continue daily review, coupled with some advanced instruction. The courses vary in structure at different grade levels. Grades 3-6 are similar in structure but grade-level appropriate. Easy Grammar Plus is a course that can be used either in 7th grade or as a complete grammar review for older students. Daily Grams, available for grades 3-7, supplements and complements the EG series by providing daily review.

Each grade level Teacher Edition provides bite-size lessons, student practice and assessment pages, and those same pages with answers filled in. Both the practice pages and the tests are reproducible for families. Student Workbooks include lesson and practice pages. Test Books (available for Grades 3 and up) provide pre and post tests as well as sectional tests. Grade level Sets include the Teacher Edition, Student Book and Test Book (if available for that level).

I chose this program this year because it does not require a lot of time from me (the teacher/parent) or the student. We need extra time for other subjects this year and using Easy Grammar solved some scheduling challenges. Our composition component is included in History assignments as well as Character Development Class assignments.

We used Easy Grammar Grade 3 successfully. It's a comprehensive grammar program and I buy the teacher's edition so I can brainlessly correct at the end of the day when I'm tired, but it's definitely not necessary. There is a lot of information to cover so make it a daily part schooling, otherwise you'll be playing catch-up (like we did). The cumulative reviews are redundant in their entirety; however, you can put a check next to any areas of difficulty and have your student focus on them.

Looking for something simple and clear cut. This works very well with my son. Love the emphasis on learning the prepositions first. Once we followed this approach, he had an easier time learning how to locate subject and verb in a sentence. Really like it so far.

Any grade of Easy Grammar is exceptional. It is straight forward teaching and learning, at a very affordable price. The repetition really helps children memorize things like: prepositions, helping verbs, etc. It also cuts through all of the cutesy, "fun" distractions that I see in a lot of teaching materials. I don't just want my children to have a "good school experience", I want them to have a proper education. Easy Grammar really provides a good, solid Grammar foundation with ease.

Does the teacher edition only have the answers? Or does it have a blank slate page to copy from? As opposed to using the student workbook in conjunction with the teacher edition. My goal is to save some money if possible and purchase this and not the workbook if I can just make copies for the work.

BEST ANSWER: The teacher’s edition is a complete book, meaning it includes the student pages and the answers. The students pages areon the right of the double page spread (when you’re holding the book open in front of you) and the answers are on the left page. What I’ve alway done is had the binding cut off and 3 hole punch the book, putting it in a binder. I teach the lesson (everything included in the book) and then remove the pages I want my child to do - with instructions on how she should complete the first page and then put that page BEHIND the pages (not flipping them) so the answers aren’t exposed. It’s simple, hopefully I explained it okay. My child is not prone to “cheating” so it works great. The curriculum is excellent and extremely comprehensive, but be forewarned - it’s A LOT of grammar so if your child at least likes or loves grammar it’s a great fit, but if they’re reluctant you may have a difficult time because you need to cover a decent amount every day. And lastly, please call Rainbow’s number and speak with a consultant because they are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and pleasant, too!

BEST ANSWER: Easy Grammar does not introduce diagramming at all. Instead, the program uses a system of labeling designed to identify parts of speech and parts of sentences.

Teacher Edition helpful, but not necessary
The Teacher Edition of both Easy Grammar Grade 3 and 4, I've used both, have helpful extended teaching information. If you are able to comprehend the grammar with the minimal explanations in the student workbooks though, it really doesn't add too much to the program. Having the answer key is helpful, but so far it is pretty easy to check without a key.

Easy Grammar 3 and 4 student workbooks are great. Easy Grammar 2 is completely different and I don't recommend it at all. Starting with Grade 3 the lessons are short, teaching is at the top of every page with enough explanation for most students to get it, there is enough practice without going overboard. And it's secular.

I really like Easy Grammar and highly recommend it.

I used Easy Grammar grade 3 this year and am getting ready to order grade 4 for next year It is the most comprehensive grammar program I have come across I purchased two others before this that were completely useless This is so easy to teach my son completely understands it and likes it They do an incredibly thorough job

I'm so happy to have finally tried Easy Grammar! After trying other programs that required a lot of teacher preparation and figuring out it is truly wonderful to be able to pick up the book see exactly where we left off and go from there The concept is given at the top of the page with examples making it easy for me to know what all needs to be explained/taught And the workbook style enables me to teach and go; my daughter can do the rest of the page while I'm doing other things We will definitely continue with Easy Grammar

My son is an auditory learner and is at different levels in the many areas of language arts Easy Grammar has been easy to use The lessons are short and to the point He is retaining the information well Teacher prep is minimal it did take a few look-throughs when I purchased the book to understand the layout We purchased the teacher book student book and test book which was a good value We will continue to using Easy Grammar products in the future
