Product Description:

14 chapters cover motion, the Laws of Motion, gravity, simple machines, energy, heat, states of matter, save motion, light, electricity, magnetism, electromagnetism, nuclear energy, and future physics. The early chapters incorporate plenty of scientific history, and include biographical details of Aristotle, Galileo, Isaac Newton, Johannes Kepler, and others.

Student Questions and Teacher Key/Test books were created by Memoria Press for additional assessment. These can be used to flesh out review and assessment if using the books as a junior high course. While there was previously one "Questions, Reviews, Tests" book for each

This is an excellent middle school physics book. I've used the same author for chemistry, biology and the History of Medicine.

My son is interested in Physics and this looked good for his interest up to adults; something that isn't dumbed down.

This book was a requirement for my son's pre-Physics class. It is not complicated, and provides good historical background of many scientists. It's a great book for the non-science focused high schooler, or the science focused younger student who wants to get a jump in the subject.

I have the "World of Chemistry" and love the way this is written. The children understand the text, and I am able to teach a couple of grades at the same time with the same text.

We have several of John Tiner's Exploring books. They are informative and readable at the middle school level, so we wanted to collect two more volumes.

Can these Exploring the World of...science books be used for high school credit worthy classes? Perhaps if coupled with a hands on kit? Are they in depth enough for that if using with the Memoria Press workbooks?
User on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Exploring the World of . . . series has a target audience of middle school (through 9th grade). The Memoria Press guides have a middle school target audience (grades 5-8). Using this series as high school credit is not a strong science option but might be acceptable depending on your state or any institution/group to which you report. Adding a hands on kit might make them more interesting and relevant but would probably not count as a high school lab.
