I like the idea of learning how the stories in the Narnia books correlate with scriptural truths and teaching these to my children in our home school.

I've been counting the days since my son started school until he was ready to begin the Narnia books He's in 3rd grade now and we have been using the Family Guide to Narnia and it has been a blessing! Very simple to use it discusses the Biblical themes that Lewis weaves throughout his work It opened my eyes to Biblical truths found all throughout the Narnia books that I had not been aware of before Each chapter discussion averages 1 page so the material is very manageable It is a good resource for supplementing any study of the Narnia books if you are particularly interested in the Biblical truths being taught in all of the magical stories This guide does not really tell you what actually happens in each chapter You MUST read the Narnia book in order to best understand the Biblical perspective I found it helpful when I reread the Chronicles books to read what the guide had to say first so I could understand what I was reading more clearly Then I went back to the guide when I was finished with each chapter to discuss it with my son I'm very happy with this guide It was exactly what I wanted to help illustrate the Biblical truths that CS Lewis saturates his work with It was perhaps even MORE of what I wanted there are many Scripture verses included to delve even deeper With this guide Narnia becomes an even more beloved place to go and be completely enveloped in the beauty of that world
