Can I just say now nice it is to have a book like this with a spiral binding that actually lies flat? I also appreciate the language at the beginning to be kind to yourself as you learn a new skill. We get so impatient with ourselves, and I liked the idea of taking time with something new. You learn about the various tools at your disposal as far as pens, inks, paper, good lighting and even details about setting up your work surface. Then comes instruction in incremental bits. You will need some lined paper on which to practice such as item 007944 Calligraphy Practice Pad. The instructor goes letter by letter, lower case then upper case, followed by numbers & symbols. As you get more confident, add flourishes to your script! I have found the calligraphy markers are an easy way to try out calligraphy, then move to the pens with nibs. ~Sara
