Whether or not you’ve
learned about the practice of “Morning Times” from A Liturgy of Love,
this anthology is a great single resource to provide food for thought, jewels
of wisdom to memorize, recite, and to just enjoy. Folk songs and hymns make up
the first 45 pages. Lists and important things to memorize include such items
as the twelve tribes of Israel, the Apostles’ and Nicene creeds, the West
Point Cadet prayer, and all 107 questions from the Westminster Shorter
Catechism. Other memory work is listed here as well: states and capitals (with
the year it joined the Union); civics questions taken from the US Citizenship
test; and more. A brief descriptive anthology provides Cindy Rollins’ take on
her top book choices. This resource ends with an index to all resources and an
index of poems’ first lines. Scriptures are taken from the ESV, 2001. Text
measures 7.5 x 9 ¼”. 192 pgs, pb. ~ Ruth
