Each of these stones has the raised footprint of an animal on one side and an image of the animal indented into the other. Take the stones on a group walk to compare them with any animal tracks the children discover (or prepare some of your own if needed). Press the footprint into the ground to check, then flip the stone over to identify what animal left the marks. Replicate the same treasure hunt by leaving trails of footprints in the outdoor area of your setting. What animal might the children find at the end: fox, squirrel, rabbit, frog, deer, hawk, owl or mouse? The footprints are made from a unique stone mix and are robust enough to be used throughout an early years setting, both inside and outdoors. Contains eight double-sided stones. (3 inches) Age 2+.
Let’s Investigate is a collection of a unique stone mix that is durable for inside and outside use. Each box comes with 8 different stones with a raised feature displayed in the middle that measures around 3 inches and almost ½” thickness. You can use these for STEM activities such as imprinting, waxing, matching, dig and discover, examining, and sorting. The Woodland Footprint stones are double sided, with a footprint on one side that is raised and the imprinted animal on the other side. The storage box has a wrap around and tuck lid with dividers for each stone. ~Amber
