Product Description:

Have you mastered the Forbidden Island, are you looking for a new challenge, or do you just love the game and are looking for another along the same vein? Well, the adventure continues with Forbidden Desert! In this heart-racing, pulse pounding version, players were caught unaware on their quest to excavate a buried city and find the ancient flying machine. After crashing their plane in a sudden sand storm, players must band together and battle excruciating thirst, the hot desert sun, and the sand storm that threatens to bury them alive. Meanwhile, they are excavating the city in search for the parts of the legendary flying machine that they hope will allow them to escape. As in Forbidden Island, the "board" consists of double-sided tiles. One side shows desert, the other shows the buried city. Players each have different roles and capabilities as they move around the board. They are removing sand, excavating the city and locating the pieces to the flying machine, meanwhile trying to find water and avoid the shifting sand storm. A little more intense with faster moving game play than its predecessor, Forbidden Desert is a challenge the whole family will enjoy together! 2-5 players. ~ Megan

We have played Forbidden Island and hoped that this game would bring us just as much fun. Our entire family enjoys it.

We have played this game many times as a family and love the puzzle. We bought it for our cousin's family to enjoy! Sometimes the "game wins" no matter how good you tried, but that's just part of any cooperative game. This is by the same designer as Pandemic, so some of the same types of mechanisms can be seen, but the puzzle is simpler than Pandemic, easier to understand.

This is a very unique game, assuming it's similar to Forbidden Island, where it encourages cooperation, not competition. You all win and get out, or you all die, no one is left behind, everyone works together. I played Forbidden Island years ago and remember it very well. I think it will be good to improve family dynamics and for family game night.

This is a great coop game for the whole family. It's challenging, but the coop nature allows for less strategically minded children to play as well.

Great Game!
We have Forbidden Island and really enjoy it, and Forbidden Desert was a definite must. We love playing this as a family (2 boys ages 8 and 13). The shifting sands make for an interesting twist as well as the need for water. Highly recommend!

Fun and challenging
Already had Forbidden Island game--loved it and managed to beat it several times with serious cooperative effort. Forbidden Desert is a similar game mechanic, so it was comfortable to learn, and it definitely increases the challenge. Family has played 3 times now and still can't beat it--but we came close! Random elements throw accumulating hurdles. Love the "group mind" and cooperation required; ideas fly, loud and fast, but everyone agrees before we make a move. Great fun!
