Publisher Description:

During conflict will you use your hands or words? If you're angry, will you throw a fit or talk it out? Learning how to make good choices is an important and essential part of growing up. With multiple endings, each book allows the reader to make choices and read what happens next, learning how good or bad choices lead to different consequences. In this illustrated choose-your-own-ending book, Quinn deals with conflict on the playground: who will get to use the swing? Readers make choices for Quinn and read what happens next, with each story path leading to different consequences. Includes five different endings and discussion questions.

Category Description for Making Good Choices:

In each story, children choose their own adventure in social situations: 4 opportunities to choose what the character’s next step should be. Your child then gets to vicariously experience the logical positive or negative consequences of each decision. The series’ diverse characters face dilemmas in familiar locations (playground, the home, etc.). The social interactions are common as well: handling “gone-wrong” situations, following parent’s directions, choosing between self- or other-centeredness, and more. As your child reads, they decide how the character will respond, turning to a different page based on their answer. Will Margo go clean her room or watch cartoons? Will Ben speak to the girl using a wheelchair or ignore her? This engagingly illustrated series from Amicus Ink includes a handful of “Think Again” questions at the end and is written at Lexile 490-590. 9 1/4"x 8 1/2”. 24 pgs, pb. ~ Ruth

This book has been great for teaching about wildlife and habitats as we have been making our way around the globe We've been using it with our first grader to supplement our geography and our pre-k child has been learning about the animals it covers They have really enjoyed it and learned a lot We usually look the animals presented up on National Geographic's web-site so we can see video clips and audio clips as well The book also has been a good way for the children to practice their listening skills and writing skills as the answer questions after I read the section on each animal
