This one-year Spanish course for high school will introduce your independent learner to the ins-and-out of beginner Spanish. Each level covers one semester for a typical half-credit. The student texts come from another publisher, Classical Academic Press. THESE ARE AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. The student textbooks, Spanish for Children Primer A (024984) and Primer B (011346), are generally geared towards a younger student; however, an independent high schooler can follow the pacing in the CLE Student Guide for a lighter high school Spanish option. It works out to about 3 lessons a week for a traditional school year. This is one booklet combining 5 CLE Light Units. High school Spanish usually has a model for proper pronunciation, a voice for the student to imitate. Audio chants can be purchased at www.classicalacademicpress.com or you can choose the DVD instruction/Pronunciation Chants combination sets from our website (024929 & 026627). Students are encouraged to check their own work using the CLE Student Guide Answer Key. Topics covered include: regular and irregular verbs in the present tense, nouns gender/number, article/noun agreement, pronouns, adjectives, ser and estar, affirmative/negative, prepositions, direct objects, special verbs, past tense, future tense, near future/near past, and lots of beginner vocabulary in Primer A. Then in Primer B, you will review grammar from level A, and learn Hay, infinitives, telling time, imperfect tense, imperfect irregulars, past participles, possessive pronouns, demonstrative adjectives/pronouns, passive voice, reflexives, commands, informal commands, vosotros/nosotros, and lots more vocabulary! ~Sara
