Description

Each unit focuses on a different geographical area beginning with Western Europe, followed by the Near East, Southeast Asia, Pacific Islands, Eastern Europe, Northern South America, Mainland North America, West Africa, and Central Asia. Through the units, students learn about countries and borders, foods, flags, and culture. A suggested list of library books and You Tube® videos are included to enrich the lessons.  Students will also need access to a notebook and paper (or the printed World Explorer Journal #029667), the internet, art and craft supplies and other household items. As a family focused, multilevel curriculum, there are a lot of options and flexibility built into each unit. The recommended core book used throughout the year is the Geography of the World by DK (#005268).
