Our son is fascinated by 3d shapes. He names them and wants to draw them, or have us draw them, all the time. With these he can play with them, name them, and later when he's older maybe he'll increase his math skills and measure them. We might even paint them and he can have fun with paints and choosing what shape gets what color.

Is this a Learning Resources product? If not, does it have the same shapes as the 19 piece L.R. geometric solids set?

BEST ANSWER: We use two suppliers for this product - SI Manufacturing and Learning Resources. Both products have the same shapes and are interchangeable.

Great set
These are great. I love that this is a large set (quantity, not size). I only wish they came with a list of names because I don’t know all of these myself. Rectangular truncated pyramid? Is that the correct name of the incomplete pyramid? Not sure. I’ll have to do my own research.

Excellent product, great service.
The wooden kit is an example of a superbly made product. The finish is perfect, the shapes are geometrically correct and the look is absolutely great.

For future consideration you may want to add to this kit the following shapes:

1. Ovoid (spheroid)
2. Egg shape
3. Cross sections of a Cone: Circle, Ellipse, Parabola and Hyperbola.
4. Cross section of a Cylinder (to get an ellipse)
5. Cross sections of the other solids in the kit.
