Dungeons, Dice, & Danger Game
With four different adventures, this is an exciting roll & write game that takes 1-4 players through 30-45 minutes of dungeon excitement brimming with treasures and treacherous challenges. Be brave as you use dice to advance through dungeon mazes, fight monsters and collect points on your way to victory!
Game Setup: Players decide which of the Dungeons to explore. The difficulty levels range from Novice to Expert. Everyone receives a copy of the chosen Dungeon sheet and a pencil, and the first starting active player is chosen. Now, it is time to enter the dungeon!
Goal of the Game: Cross out the most gem spaces as possible before the game ends while losing the fewest possible lives. Players earn gems by defeating monsters; entering gem areas on the player sheet and accumulating other rewards that help earn additional gems. Lives are lost when a player cannot cross out any squares on the sheet with any rolled dice combinations.
Game Play: The first player to start is the “active” player for that round. The active player rolls the four white and one black die included in the game. All players use the four white dice to create two numbers from dice pairs and cross out corresponding numbered spaces on their dungeon maps. The active player can use the black die to help create these pairs. In addition, all players start with three black die spaces on their score sheets that they can use when needed. Except for the green starting spaces on the dungeon sheets, players may only cross out those that are adjacent to another space they previously visited. Once all players have crossed out their two numbers, the next clockwise person becomes the active player for the following round.
If there are not any available number areas that a player can cross out on their map, they must move down the “lose a life” track.
Game End: If any one player loses all their lives, they die and leave the game. Otherwise, the game ends when the first player defeats all their monsters. Everyone gets one last turn and scores their total victory points per the score sheet used. The person with the most victory points wins!
This is an easy to set up game with humorous illustrations, exploration, treasures and reward aplenty! There are solo mode rules included for added challenge when you need to face the dungeons alone.
The game officially plays in 30-45 minutes with up to 4 players. The difficulty level is 1.92 out of 5. I recommend laminating these sheets and using dry erase markers to make sure you never run out of play. ~Marsha
