Description

These 18 lessons spread over 36 weeks teach children that God is trustworthy, the creator, eternal, holy, merciful, and trinitarian. For each concept, follow a 6-step pattern of memorize, learn, play, listen, apply, and review. Extension activities have your child engaging with these concepts through the Bible story and diverse activities such as “find things you’re thankful for and paste them in a collage”; make a “good fruit” tree for your wall; play with popping bubbles to learn about self-control. Midway through the year, take 2 weeks to review previous concepts. Additional supplemental resources, discipleship extension activities; and journal pages included. Activities will include coloring pages, frosting cupcakes with gentleness, mazes, making a lion’s mask, and more. The hymns learned in this volume include The Doxology, Great is Thy Faithfulness, and Jesus Paid it All. Scriptures to memorize include 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Proverbs 1:8-9; and Hebrews 2:1. ~ Ruth

Category Description for Where Faith Grows

Written by a second-generation home schooler with a passion for God's Word and for discipling a generation, this series focuses on God's Word, work, and character, and those traits which we also emulate as His children. In 15-30 minutes daily, students spend time in lessons that follow a regular pattern from week to week and will vary from level to level, but will work on understanding, absorbing, and applying Biblical principles. Weekly, students will learn a hymn and a Scripture verse. Periodically, in each level, the book will "check-in" with your student and encourage taking a photo of them engaged in the learning activities to glue in their book or journal. When the course is complete, both you and your child can look back on how much they've learned and grown. Each level introduces a new friend who guides you through the curriculum while you read and memorize directly from Scripture, journalling with provided prompts, and more.

No separate teacher book is needed: includes a suggested schedule, scope and sequence, supplemental resources, lesson-by-lesson supply list of fairly common household items, hymn list, Scripture verses, journal pages, and more. Because of the high personalization and activity engagement in this worktext, you may want to pull the student pages out and place them in a 3-ring binder. See individual descriptions for further details. Future levels will span to Level 6. Uses NASB 1995; NIRV © 2014. Consumable student books are 3-hole punched and perforated. 380+ pgs, pb. ~ Ruth
