Product Description:

Want a great resource to help introduce your children to some of the countries and people groups throughout the world? This book, in each two page spread, will do just that!Theintroduction to Hazara, for example, had the following: a history telling us that the Hazara people are descendants of Genghis Khan's army, a piece on life in Hazarajat (the region in Afghanistan where the Hazara live), color photographs of people and places, a factfile containing facts about where Hazaras live and how many there are in the world, a story about a Hazara refugee who became a Christian convert, a Did You Know? piece on the religion of the Hazara, a list of things we can thank God for, and a list of things we should ask God for. Other people we learn about include Indians, New Zealanders, Azerians, Greecians, Jolas, Refugees, and Uruguayans etc. While reading about terrible cruelties and conditions in other countries, the book still maintains an amazing optimism as it shares answered prayers in various countries and faith in God. 222 pgs, pb. ~ Genevieve

I purchased this book to aid in teaching my children about foreign missions and geography I have 5 children ages 1 to 10 I enjoy doing as many subjects as we can together this book fits the bill I wanted them to have a glimpse into the lives and spiritual needs of those around the world We have this lesson every Friday the information from the book is very factual and informative yet brief (only a 2 page layout for each geographical location) I read the lesson and then we get the globe out and find the country for the week The conversations sparked from the lessons have been priceless I especially like the specific prayer needs listed for each individual country The cost of the book was perfect for us because it met my needs for 2 subjects: missions and geography

Window on the World is a beautiful book Similar in layout and design to an Usborne book It includes pictures of the people and places which draw the reader into the information presented for each country It has the history of the country's religious beliefs and cultural attributes as well as current maps and facts We have used this book to supplement our world geography lessons in a more personal way It is worth the expense by allowing us to take a peek into the lives of the people and direct us in the way to pray and praise God for them
