Product Description:

What a great idea! Unifix cube-like phonics manipulatives! Children can "build" words by connecting cubes end-to-end. The set of 90 cubes comes in a plastic jar with a lid with a built-in handle. There are 30 vowels (red cubes) and 60 consonants (blue cubes). There are 2-5 of each consonant and 6 of each vowel (6 of each except 4 of u plus 2 of y). Lower case letters on one side; uppercase on reverse side. Each cube has an individual consonants or vowels printed on it; lower-case letters are printed on one side of each cube, with the upper-case letters printed on the opposite side. A small instruction booklet is also included.

Publisher Description:

This set includes 90 single-letter cubes (blue consonants and red vowels), with quantities based upon frequency of use.

Cubes are lower case on one side, upper case on the other. Teacher guide included.

Packaged in plastic storage container.

The best price on these hands on manipulatives that we will be using as our youngest learns spelling and word families.

I wanted something to help teach spelling in a fun way. These can be a little limiting in that we have to build a word or two, and then take them apart to build more words. Wish there was a few more letters in the set so we could build an entire word family at the same time.

Great product for new readers. I don't love the container (it is hard to find the letter you are looking for), but otherwise great!

These letter cubes have helped my dyslexic child learn phonics rules better than any other thing I've tried By combining the color-coded cubes he can explore letter patterns and rules The consonants are blue and the vowels are red This makes the patterns stand out while not being too visually distracting with too many colors I use these cubes along with my regular phonics curriculum and they help my child see the words and word parts in a way that simple paper and pencil activities haven't achieved Rainbow Resource has the best price online by far even better than Didax I highly recommend these cubes to anyone whose child struggles with reading

WE LOVE THESE CUBES! We use them weekly for spelling words rhyming and phonics The vowels are red There are so many ways to use them The student can spell a word Or can provide the missing letters Or make rhyming words using the same ending What adding silent E and having the student read the new word?? These can be used w multiple ages and multiple children at once We bought the activity book but actually haven't used it
