Product Description:

Increase your children's vocabulary without workbooks or study - learn while playing Rummy Roots! This unique card game will allow students to master 42 different Greek and Latin roots. After learning these familiar roots and practicing alphabetizing via a simple "Go Fish"-type game, players progress to 3 higher levels of play. In Level 1, players combine roots to form English words and practice dictionary skills. In level 2, dictionary skills are improved as players try to stump their opponents. Level 3 is played like Rummy using three root combinations to further expand vocabulary and comprehension. The result of all this fun? Mastering 42 Greek and Latin roots, over 190 vocabulary words learned, and the ability to at least partially decipher over 2,000 words!

I need set 2. Do you have it?
Monique D on Feb 12, 2021
BEST ANSWER: We only have the one set, but there are 4 levels in it.
Can we start with this "More Roots" game as an introduction to word roots, or should the first game, "Rummy Roots," be definitely used first? Just wondering if the order is important, as the first game ("Rummy Roots) is backordered.

More Roots Card Game
BEST ANSWER: Definitely can. We have started with More Roots and we are really enjoying it. There are also multiple levels within the one set so it should last for a while. We have just ordered Rummy Roots to expand on it.
Would this go along well with English from the Roots up?
Debbie on Jul 31, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This game is a fun activity for students to develop their word attack skills and reinforce their understanding of etymology. I have used it with my weak Language Support students and they love it.

Fabulous way to learn word roots
My sons learn best by playing, so when someone recommended this game to us for our children to learn word roots, I picked it up. It doesn't disappoint... as long as you play the card games (fun), they learn while playing (as opposed to telling them to just memorize the lists!) they WILL learn and have fun doing it, and knowing a lot of word roots is a great tool to have.

Fun way to practice Greek/Latin roots! It has several options for games that progress from super easy to really challenging so that it can easily be adapted to the student's level. Very easy to learn the rules.

A fun way to learn something that could otherwise be difficult.
So far we are still in learning mode, but the kids and I are enjoying the process of learning the different roots and what they mean. We have been playing the beginner’s version (basically Go Fish). The kids are still enjoying it after multiple plays a week for the last month or so!

Repeat purchase for all my students with dyslexia!
This is a very useful game. I use at a linguistics teacher to children with dyslexia. I play my own memory version of the game with my students during instruction but I suggest to the families that they play Rummy Roots.
Learning morphemes is a great tool for expanding vocabulary, spelling and decoding.

Great product and nice discount, though it took a while to get here.
We really like our new card game. It is in perfect condition even though it was discounted for having been opened. It took a long time to come, but I think that was because part of our order was out off stock. It came pretty soon after I cancelled the other item.

This game has been a fun and painless way to learn root words My son and I have nearly memorized all the root words and their definitions and will soon be ordering Rummy Roots 2 It's super easy to use and no prep work needed You can't beat the value and it doesn't feel like "doing school" at all We love this game and use it nearly every day in our homeschool

The Rummy Roots game is excellent The rules are easy to understand and only took a few moments to read After that my ten year old daughter and I played She loved it! (She beat me two out of three times!) It was so easy and I could see her learning Painless repetition of Greek and Latin roots and their meanings! The cards are divided into three groups so as not to be overwhelming After mastering one group move on to the next After all three groups are mastered there are three more games to play to help kids (and adults) increase vocabulary and form new words This was well worth it!
