Making potholders is a great introduction to weaving, and a fun, relaxing and creative activity too. And the results are very useable, which we love! Both of these kits are designed to last many potholders, with sturdy metal looms and metal weaving hooks. The metal loom pegs slant outward to prevent loops from slipping off, which is especially helpful for young kids! The loops included with each kit are 100% cotton, and custom-sized to fit the loom, which is often not the case in less expensive kits. The instructions included offer instructions on starting and finishing potholders, along with design ideas and suggestions for additional projects using the basic potholder. This kit contains enough loops to make six potholders.

I wanted this brand of loom & loops. It's a metal loom with apparently very high quality, nicely colored cotton loops that are leaps & bounds better looking than the brands offered at the store. Also, "Deluxe" comes with enough loops to make 6 potholders (vs. 2). My 6 y.o. daughter is always wanting to tie & twist things so I want to treat her to her first "real" hobby & give her little hands the chance to do their thing. Hopefully she'll enjoy a potholder loom just like I did when I was little!

This is a sturdy loom made in the United States with cotton loops that are heat resistant, so can really be used. Rainbow Resource offers the best price I could find.

This is fun!
