Product Description:

By the same publisher as Nature Log, here's one specific to birds. Log sheets ask for particular information, such as wing shape, color, beak shape, etc. This log contains more pages than the Nature Log, and allows bird watchers to keep a running record of birds observed (Life List), and a bird part identification page. It also contains Photo/Artwork pages on which your young naturalist can paste a picture, draw a bird, paste a photo, or glue feathers from observed specimens.

I thought this would be a good way for my girls to record what we learn about the birds in our yard.

We are going to use this in a bird unit study. This book seems to guide the student in what to write and I thought that would be better than trying to come up with the information themselves.

This is a hidden gem! The perfect journal for early grade schoolers interested in birds There are prompts for inexperienced birdwatchers to record their observations but also plenty of room to record more complex information The checkbox format was very helpful for my 1st grader starting out and he has now graduated to a blank journal where he writes his own observations This is the only journal I've seen that is tailored to younger grades and was just what we were looking for!
