This book is a resource I return to again and again It grounds me when I am feeling drawn to all the new-fangled curricula available each fall The information presented is so simple and basic Like a good friend Dr Beechick encourages the reader that they CAN do a good job teaching their child This is better than a pep talk! The methods are common sense and practical The recommended tools are inexpensive and simple The results have been tested by time Although I have purchased many resources in my eleven years of homeschooling few have served me as well as this unassuming little book! I heartily recommend it to new and veteran homeschoolers alike!

You Can Teach Your Child Successfully by Ruth Beechick is a lifesaver for those of you who are overwhelmed with curricula options and do not know where to begin Get started with Beechick's simple advice! She lays out some very practical help in the areas of reading and writing with some straightforward lesson plans The way she teaches writing is the way that Ben Franklin taught himself This book acts as a guide for me when I am not sure which direction to go next; it helps me get back on track too--a must-have for any homeschooler!
