Help nature reclaim what is hers by restoring a polluted valley to its pristine state. Place your animal dominoes along the course of a brook and replant the surrounding land to score points. But when is the best moment to plant each of your various plants? And where are the best spots to do so? These are the questions you must answer to win.
In Renature, each player has dominoes with animals on them and a number of different plants. On your turn, you place a domino from your hand so that it matches all its neighbors. Then, you may place a plant beside it in an area. You gain points based on the size and number of plants there, and hopefully later again when the area is scored – either because it is surrounded by dominoes or at the end of the game.
The best players know how to manage their hands to form a long term strategy and adapt to surprises, how to figure out and block their opponents’ designs, and how heavily to commit to each of the many tense contests that occur across the board.

Teaching this science class for our co-op this year and have found in the past that the companion cd-roms are a must have.

Is the information on this CD also on the full book CD? (Not the instructor DVDs, but the book CD)
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the Companion CD-ROM includes multi-media clips, pronunciation, and other illustrating content that is also include on the Full Course CD-ROM.

Don't confuse this with the dvd included in the bundle
RR did a great job with their Apologia deluxe sets. They are a great deal. Problem: They come with the classroom dvd. The guy sits and reads the lesson, which comes for free with the deluxe package on the included mp3. No experiments, no helps. Order the notebook, book set, and lab kit separately ... And order This! Companion cd. A huge help! So much better than the much more expensive dvd. Blech!

Nice Add-on for Apologia General Science
I purchased Apologia General Science to use with an older student who struggles with science and it really has been a good fit for him. I went the extra mile and bought the companion CD-Rom for the added features. I really like being able to use it view the videos or animated graphics. It adds more depth to our lessons. The videos aren't high quality but they are narrated and demonstrated by the author himself. The animated graphics are decent/mediocre. There are at least 3 for every module. The textbook will prompt you when there is a feature on the CD-Rom to go along with the lesson.
My only real complaint is that it's not always convenient to be by the computer during our science lesson. I have made it work though. If we "skip" a session on the CD-Rom I don't worry about it. The next time we see the prompt we will view the video/graphic from the current lesson and then the one that was "skipped". This way we get extra review of that topic. It works out perfectly.
Overall, I really like the CD-Rom. I will love it even more if I can use it again in a couple of years with another child, but with technology these days, that is not a guarantee. I love having it with our lessons but it's not essential. I'm not sure I would buy it again but I'm glad I have it. The CD-Rom is a great value for the money. I recommend it.
