Very in-depth. Gives the students plenty of time to master each skill.

It's a great program! I do wish the explanations were a bit longer and in depth, but overall it has been a good program for my son!

A WINNER!!!
We have 7 kids and MathMammoth has worked with all of them who have used it so far! With the last little guy coming up, there is no doubt that he will be using it as well. Our first child did another math program and scored terribly on state tests. I knew something had to change! (Poor first kids! LOL!) We switched to MathMammoth and all the kids using it have tested several grades above since! The program is not too teacher-intensive for a momma needing to help multiple kids and they are all learning so much! This homeschool momma is *very* happy we found MathMammoth!!! Oh, and we found it through a friend who worked for NASA and told me it was an excellent program! She KNEW what she was talking about! :D

Love Math Mammoth
I’ve loved using Math Mammoth for my kids, but hated having to print and organize it myself. I love having the workbook format and it keeps everything easily organized for my multiple homeschooled kids.

Math Mammoth
I love this curriculum. Easy to follow. Rigorous yet straightforward. Instructions are detailed without being tedious, challenging without being overwhelming. The content is thorough and comprehensive. This curriculum is easy on students and teachers without sacrificing quality and rigor.

Regret
I thought I did a decent enough job researching this math curriculum and comparing it to others. I was trying to avoid anything common core. I know this curricula is said to be "common core aligned" (or whatever the phrase was), but I guess I just didn't fully realize what that meant. I bought this because of its claimed mastery spiral approach. theres a mix of common core style and traditional (how I learned math!) and I think that mix takes away from mastering the topic. When the topic throws in a few problems cc style, if my son doesn't get it, I have him skip the cc way of doing the problem and have him do it the traditional way and he has no problems. Proof (imo) that cc doesn't work. Also, there's not enough space for my son to do the work right next to or near the problem. And there's been problems thrown in that make us say "huh?! Where'd that come from?!" I'll look back thru previous pages to see where it was taught so he can review and we don't see discussion/examples for this out of the blue math problem. No I would not recommend math mammoth. (Background: this is our 2nd year of homeschooling. My boys are 8th and 5th grade. Last year we used Khan academy, which is very much common core, very much headache and frustration! I have my 8th grader doing teaching textbooks...so far no problems and haven't noticed any common core way of doing things. Will probably use teaching textbooks for both my boys next year despite the expense.) if you do buy this curricula, good luck.

Love it!
First of all this is harder than 5th grade so be sure to get the right books. One of my sons was struggling with the spiral method like saxon and was discouraged. I got him this and it is just right for him. He loves working in a workbook with the directions in the same book.

I bought this for my 6th grader, because we started out with level 6 and it was too advanced coming from mathematical reasoning level 5 book from last year.

Excellent math curriculum

My 5th Grader has used Math Mammoth since 2nd grade after other math curriculum we used just didn't work right for him. This straight forward book can be self taught if you've got a student who is proficient in Math. It's affordable and well presented without all the fluff.

looked clear and simple

This was a good transition from Miquon math, albeit with more of a traditional textbook feel. Combined with Khan academy online, we were happy with the material and price.

Candace H on Oct 16, 2016
My kids (ages 11 and almost 10) are doing well. Neither of them enjoy Math, but these workbooks are well equipping them to compute all kinds of math problems.
Amy A on Sep 21, 2016
I like the approach that Math Mammoth uses. We were using Beast Academy before and that did not wok out for us at all. Combined with the approach and good reviews I feel like Math Mammoth will be a good choice for us.
Amy G on Sep 15, 2016
I am changing math curriculem and I want the whole set in case we go through it quickly.

daughter wanted to change math curriculum and this seemed to be comparable to Singapore math difficulty-wise (we used Singapore math last year)
Mary Faith B on Jul 21, 2016
Love this series, simple math facts and well explained.
Shauna E on Jul 19, 2016
It seems like it will be a better fit for my rising 5th grader (homeschool) than the program we've used in the past.
Joelle P on Jul 16, 2016
Great reviews and my child can work on her own unless she needs my help. Being a working homeschool mom I need my children to be somewhat independent.
Amy V on Jul 15, 2016
We used MM last year and it worked well for my daughter.
Elisabeth S on Jun 30, 2016
My daughter took the placement test and said it was "fun hard." She previously did Abeka, which she deemed "HARD hard."
Jennifer M on Jun 19, 2016
I have tried multiple math programs for my 10 year old. Singapore is too much of a challenge but Saxon and other programs have been to easy. Math Mammoth seems to be a good fit.

My Daughter just completed the 4B book in the light blue Math Mammoth series. It was our first experience with Math Mammoth. She enjoys it because she can work very independently. It explains concepts well, and best of all she is finally enjoying math!

Are these books spiral bound?
A shopper on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. The copies I purchased here at Rainbow were glue-bound. I'm pretty sure that a different vendor offers the spiral-bound copies. Look for that info on the author's website.
