I chose this complete set as a foundational beginning in Latin with all of the suggested components rather than trying to hodge-podge and having gaps.

Even though the description of this course says previous Latin isn't required, I found it challenging nonetheless. If you have had even one semester of Latin, you shouldn't have any problem with it. If your children plan on taking Latin in college, you should know that most colleges teach the traditional pronunciation; this set uses the Ecclesiastical (church) pronunciation. And on the other hand, the Ecclesiastical format comes in handy in church, singing Latin songs, prayers and such.

We have had 2 years of Classical Conversations Foundations and this curriculum was highly recommended to me by other CC parents to take their Latin to the next level.

Sister recommended this curriculum. Easy to follow and learn herself as she taught her children Latin. We liked Prima Latina and are ready for next level.

We all loved Prima Latina to begin our Latin study; this is the next level in the series as recommended by Memoria Press.

This is user friendly even for a Mom who never learned Latin. It is fun to learn together.

I am concerned about the DVD and flashcards being 2nd edition and the rest being 4th edition. Are they compatible? (According to the MP website, the 4th edition is not compatible with previous editions.)
A shopper on Apr 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The 2nd edition of those materials were actually updated at the same time as the 4th edition of the text was updated. It's just that those materials had previously only been in a 1st edition. It does make for a confusing situation, however.
Is there a level 1 and 2 of Latina Christiana? Or just one level?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there are 2 levels of Latina Christiana: I and II. There is also the Prima Latina which we are glad we did prior to Level I. Hope that helps.
Is this faith based or secular? (Latina Christiana)
A shopper on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Latina Christiana is faith based as far as teaching 2 prayers, the Table Blessing and the Lord's Prayer in Latin. There are also Christian Hymns in Latin too that you can learn in the book (music cd not included). If you're new to Latin, I encourage you to start with PRIMA LATINA also by Cheryl Lowe. It includes 5 different prayers to learn in Latin. Latina Christiana can be supplemented with Famous Men of Rome to learn more of the history they discuss in each week's lesson, but it's not mandatory.
