Happy with books, not happy the books refer to a website listed as a digital resource, to find out it website use has to be purchased seperate.
We use this product in our homeschool. My child was used to this system in public school, so was great we could continue with it on our own. However, when I went to the digital website the books refer to using side by side with the books, I was unable to create an account. Upon calling customer service for the Go Math, I have to buy the online subscription seperate, I didn't realize it wasn't the 'full package' I had bought. Books are great, but not paying extra for a website use.

I have used for 2nd and 3rd grade; I love this math!
I have used this curriculum for two years to homeschool my son, and I really like it. I have not started the 4th grade year yet, but I expect it to be great! It is a blend of Singapore Math and traditional math. It gives explanation for why kids are learning each lesson, and often how that lesson fits into the grand scheme of what they are learning. It provides an option for daily practice of facts that we do before diving into the lesson, and then has a review at the end that helps keep old lessons on the brain. We usually skip the practice/ homework page, because there are plenty of problems to work through without it. I like the colorful presentation of material, and I like the content of the problems- it may tie in to science or social studies or reading concepts. I thought the first chapter of 3rd grade was a little strangely organized, and that the authors assumed we would be familiar with some things they had not taught the year before (friendly numbers, for example), but it was pretty smooth otherwise. The teacher's manual gives error alerts- common errors to watch out for and how to address them. I don't think of this as an open and go curriculum, but I definitely feel well supported with plenty of resources to teach math. I am enjoying re-learning math myself, for fluency, rather than memorization of facts alone. I am really thankful that Rainbow Resources started offering a homeschool package; it is easier to purchase here than from HMH for homeschool families.

How is the home school edition different than the Go Math program that is taught in schools? What makes it different for home schooled children?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi! We chose to continue using this curriculum when we began homeschooling- our son's private school had used it. The first two years, I purchased it from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. In order to purchase the teacher's edition, HMH requires proof that I am a teacher. Once I discovered that Rainbow Resource was carrying it, I purchased through them, because it was simpler. It is still the most recent edition, I think. I did realize this year, however, that while the earlier books I used said Common Core edition on them, the ones I purchased through Rainbow Resource do not. I know they have the same covers and appear the same, but I don't know whether the content is different. Purchasing through Rainbow Resource is less expensive, by about $40-$50, last time I checked, and the Homeschool kit includes student books, teacher's edition booklets, and Mathboard, all together. I think the print quality has not been as sharp in the last couple of years, but I don't know whether the ones directly from HMH would be any different. The homeschool kit does not include access to all online resources, but neither did purchasing from HMH directly, unless you buy the online edition/ ebook. There are still QR codes in the text to link to videos. Hope that helps!
Does this include the assessment guide?

BEST ANSWER: Go Math Homeschool Packages include both Student and Teacher editions of the Getting Ready for High Stakes Assessment Workbook. The Student Assessment Books provide non-reproducible copies of the various assessments while the Teacher Assessment Books provide filled-in, reduced-size test pages and scoring rubrics.
