Children can shore up their math facts with this STEM hands-on math kit. Students place weights on both sides of the balance scale to see what values equal each other. For example, one side might have one weight hanging from the 8th peg. Students then use weights to put on the other side to try to equal the number 8. They might put 2 weights on 4 and learn 4+4=8 or 4x2=8. When they can balance the scale, they know the values match. Eighteen colorful challenge cards are included showing pictures of an equation. For example, 8=2+?. Answers are on the back of each card including an illustration of the scale with the correct number of weights on each side. Also includes an eight-page, full color manual. ~ Gina
