Description

A wonderful game for those who enjoy learning about different dog breads or just love dogs in general. This board game is fun, complex, and strategic. Earn Reputation Tokens by taking time and using resources to walk the dogs in your kennel. Before each of the four rounds starts, players take turns bidding on dog breed cards, and then acquire the dog won to their kennel. If a player loses a bid, they chose a remaining dog card. If dogs in the kennels do not get walked for the round, the player will lose reputation points. On each walk, the dog walkers can collect tokens such as balls, bones, sticks, or squeaky toys. Once collected, the tokens are used to get more dogs out of the kennel, because each dog costs one or more specific tokens to be walked. For example, the golden retriever requires two sticks and a squeaky toy to be walked, while the German shepherd only requires one stick. Once dog walking is done, the players earn reputation points for each dog walked and for being the first to finish the walk. There are also several other ways reputation points can be earned, such as by strategically picking certain dog breads, which can have higher value determined by the ranking on the board. The ranking is set up differently each time the game is played. The player with the most reputation points by the end of the game wins.

I have personally played this game, and I will say that it did take a while to get down. I am not an avid strategy board game player, but I really did enjoy this game. I will admit, it took me and two other players several attempts to get through the game entirely and successfully, but it does get easier and more fun to play each time that we do play. There are just many moving pieces, and a lot of instructions to read through, but it was worth the time to learn it. It was also nice how many storage aids were included to hold the pieces, such as the bone-shaped plastic containers and sealable plastic bags for cards and larger pieces.

Total contents include 163 dog breed cards, 4 lead boards, 1 game board, 4 screen printed wooden walker meeples, 4 screen printed wooden dog reputation markers, 100 wooden resources tokens, 1 screen printed wooden first walker token, 1 screen printed wooden bird round tracker, 50 walked tokens, 5 location tokens, 4 offer dials, 1 custom wooden dice, 8 player aid cards, 4 solo objective cards, 16 location bonus cards, 10 objective cards, 11 forecast cards, 7 breed expert cards, a 1,100-page scorepad, 2 custom component GameTrayz, and a rulebook.

For 1-4 players, ages 10 and older, about 40-80 minutes of game play. ~ Brianna
