Little readers’ skills continue to grow with these take-home, drawstring bags that have 10 full-color sturdy nonfiction decodable readers for 1st grade. Readers cover an array of topics, from animals to making wedding cakes to metal art. Illustrations add to the stories but don’t give away the story young readers are learning to read. Each reader measures 8” x 5.5”, is 16 pages long, and includes a list of Words to Watch: phonics words, high-frequency words, and knowledge-building words. There are also discussion questions at the end. There is an economical Phonics Take-Home Pack with black-and-white readers available as well. ~Rebecca
