I just started this set and love it...I just wish the meeting book came with it. It's an easy to use program we used it last year for our older daughter and she loved it. We didn't use the meeting book last year and that was a headache. If your new to Saxon make sure you get the meeting book!! JS

Drill and kill
I hear great things, but this is not for us. It is drill and kill math. Barely any application or critical thinking here. Way too many problems. My children are very ahead in math but my 1st grader thought the 3rd grade stuff was way to easy. I didn't even want to go back and check it. We have gone to Singapore it is a much better fit.

The Best Math Available
Saxon uses constant review to make sure all concepts are understood. I used Saxon when I was homeschooled and I wouldn't dream of anything less for my child.

I have 9 children and I used this with all of them except for 2 of them and I wish I would have. I believe it would of helped them more than what I used. Using the time test helped them to learn their tables better and quicker. I recommend this to start out with in math.

All you need for math!
I have used Saxon for the past six years. I have four children that I educate at home and Saxon is so complete and so comprehensive I never worry about math 'gaps'. Love my Saxon math!

We love Saxon
We love Saxon math. It is no nonsense. The teachers guide is scripted and the workbooks are set up to be straight forward. They introduce topics then review them periodically throughout for reinforcement.

The Best Math. Period
We've used Saxon for each of our 5 children and find it a thorough, rugged process that results in fantastic skills when used as written and in total. We love it.

Love the Saxon Math!!
Our guys have been homeschooled their entire lives. They love Saxon Math. And as for the teacher...everything is in the manual, step by step. It keeps the kids interested and moving forward!

Though Saxon has a reputation for painful repetition, that repetition is the very thing needed to master mathematics.

I've been using Saxon math for over 20 years in my classroom even when my school chooses other math programs. I use Saxon to supplement lessons if I think Saxon has a better way to teach concepts. I have second grade materials and now I need third grade. Just my opinion but I think Saxon math is the best.
Kristine J on Sep 29, 2017
I needed it for homeschooling, wish it came without fact cards though as I only needed the workbooks

I bought this kit to use at home with my teacher's edition for Saxon Math 3. My youngest child will be the last of the four to use this last year of the elementary program for Saxon. I've been very pleased with this program and the firm grounding it provides for my kids as they advance further in math.
