My Reading Adventures: A Book Journal for Kids
Looking at this book journal at first, it looked like a simple little notebook. But once I cracked it open, my mind quickly changed. Inside the front cover is an old- fashioned library card for the owner to track dates of achievements such as the date started, when 10 books are finished, read with a friend, went to a bookstore and more. There is a two-page habit tracker for the owner to color in a star for each book they read each month. There are journal pages for 135 books. There are check boxes for “This Book Made Me Feel.” Happy, sad, scared, excited, curious, anxious, peaceful, smart, and two blanks for the owner to fill in. There is a space to record their favorite quote, and the best part of the book in their opinion. Also, whether fiction or nonfiction, emojis to “rate” the book, how the book was found, the date it was read, favorite character, and the book pace. Also, title and author. Twenty-two different categories of booklists are scattered through the journal. For example, Great Adventures, Graphic Novels, Biography & Memoir, Sports pages, Science Fiction, Fun, Funny & Silly Stories and more with 10 -12 book suggestions per page. Some titles include Nim’s Island, Invisible Emmie, Amos Fortune Free Man, and Stargazing. ~Judy
