Same as Saxon 5/4
My 4th grader needed more space to write, and more practice for each type of problem than Saxon 5/4 provided. I hoped to get a text and workbook with a larger text font and workspace, as well as a slightly slower pace for the I introduction of new material. This set offers neither advantage. In fact, side by side, I saw only two distinctions in the 26 problem set. Shipping was slow and since it was on clearance, I'm out over $80 nonrefundable. Rainbow Resources has the best catalog around, but this transaction was a dud.

Saxon Math intermediate 4
I am very impressed with the curriculum & appreciate how it challenges my daughter to excel beyond what kids her age are learning in public school right now. She loves the curriculum too & is excited about math!

My son is really enjoying this math. My mother used Saxon math when she was homeschooling me and my siblings. I've always thought they were the best!

After being in a public school where they basically just had him on a computer all day, my son is adamant that his school work not be done online. We also do a lot of car schooling, so workbooks and textbooks work better for us all around.

I loved Saxon Phonics, and Saxon Math was recommended to us as well. We ordered the Intermediate 4 set (instead of the Math 5/4 set) for several reasons: better paper quality (sounds petty, but we wanted a nice math textbook); there are 40 inlesson activities (compared to 8 in the Math 5.4 set), and there are more indepth applications in the Intermediate set.

My 2nd grader has been using Saxon Math 3 this year, and my 4th grade daughter has been using Saxon math 5/4. We felt that the jump from Math 3 to Math 5/4 was too great for our 2nd grader (the workload/# of daily problems is very different!), and felt like he needed another year to really solidify his math facts. Intermediate Math 4 seemed like the perfect bridge between the two curriculums.

Book is great for my ASD child. Has trouble with short term memory and retaining any information from day to day. Saxon INtermediate allows her to build gradually on the concepts without overwhelming her. We are way behind, trying to catch up. She builds her confidence and feels like she has learned something, which makes learning new things easier.
