Core Classics
The first two volumes in this series of classic abridged novels are the Core Classics Plus study editions, which feature a deluxe hardbound cover as well as guided reading, discussion questions and suggested activities. The remaining nine novels in this series are softbound, and simply include abridged versions of classic stories that are designed to be faithful in theme, style, and spirit to the original works. Each novel can be used in conjunction with the Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum, yet they can also be read by students on an independent basis. All books in this series contain simple black and white illustrations and vocabulary-in-context reference material. This collection would work equally well in home or traditional classrooms and would also be useful for summer reading or as a gift item. ~ Mike
