Graphic Classics

These graphic novels (in a comic book style) transform the original text of classic novels into colorfully illustrated versions of the stories. The artwork is impressive, and though the text takes the form of speech bubbles and text boxes, the editors and writers have done a decent job of capturing the style and maintaining the plots, language, and themes of the original stories. The books also contain extras like brief biographies of the original authors, a list of each author's important works, a glossary, and an index. With full-color pages throughout, these graphic novels are great introductions to literature for junior high and high school students, and they will captivate younger readers as well. Each book about 48 pgs, pb. ~ Rachel
