Exploring Creation with General Science (2nd Ed.)
Please note that this course is currently out of print and has been replaced by the new 3rd edition. We no longer have inventory of the Solutions Manual and we have a limited number of textbooks. If you opt to purchase a textbook, you will need to locate a used copy of the Solutions Manual and test booklet to make a complete course. This course from Apologia touches on the basics in several areas of science. The 16 modules in the hardcover student text are designed to be covered in 32-36 weeks. These modules introduce the history of science, scientific inquiry, experimentation, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, fossils, the fossil record, life, classification of life, the human body, energy, the digestive system, the respiratory system, the lymphatic system, the reproductive system, the urinary system, and the nervous system. As with the entire series, the book is written to be understandable; you do not need to be a high school science teacher to present the material. And, as you would expect from the title, the handiwork of the Creator is a central theme in the course. Experiments, which require no expensive equipment, are a part of each module. Materials lists for each module are provided in an appendix at the end of the book. Many of the items needed are common household items, and the rest are easily obtainable. The softcover Solutions Manual (no longer available - out of print!) provides solutions to the questions in the book, a test booklet, and test answers.
