Knight of the White Cross
As England is engaged in the War of the Roses, Young Gervaise Tresham becomes a Knight of St. John. Although originally this order ministered to pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land, it became a great military organization out of necessity, as pilgrims increasingly were attacked, robbed, and enslaved by Moslems. Gervaise becomes a commander of a war galley patrolling the Mediterranean which was infested by Moorish corsiar pirates. Learn how the Knights of St. John became the bulwark of Christendom against the invasion of the Turks.
