20 Minute Science
What if I could promise that you could reinforce science lessons in 20 minutes per day? And that this new series would provide you with ideas and reproducible activity sheets for one year of easy-to-implement science ideas? Now you can see why I am so excited about this new supplemental science series!
This engaging series from The Mailbox contains the best ideas and reproducibles from their popular Investigating Science series. Covering Life Science, Physical Science and Earth Science, this resource is formatted for ease of use with material lists, teaching suggestions, easy-to-do activities and experiments, simple songs that teach, and reproducible practice pages and student booklets. You will need to supply some commonly found items. A minimum level of topic knowledge is assumed, although innovative parents and teachers could easily supplement the activities with living books and science texts at grade level to create a fully developed science course. Books are targeted grade levels and provide over 150 activities for you to use or to select the ones that best fit your science goals. Here is a sampling of the fun and educational activities included: predicting what types of foods will draw ants and then testing the hypothesis, making windsocks, trying edible plants, making a pendulum, making a bone burrito, planting seed packets and much more. A great resource for hands-on science or to supplement your current science textbook. PB. 128 pgs. ~Deannehelp desk software
